Superstudio: Redesigning an AI-Powered Creative Platform

Superstudio is an AI-powered creative platform that integrates image and video models into an infinite canvas, allowing users to generate, remix, and iterate on media in a fluid, dynamic workspace. As remix culture continues to evolve online, the team recognized the need to redesign the website and product to provide a better user experience and increase engagement among creative professionals and AI enthusiasts.

Challenge
Originally, Kaiber.AI (now Superstudio) followed a traditional linear layout, where users navigated through pages in a fixed sequence. However, this structure didn’t align with the platform’s core philosophy of limitless creativity.

Key limitations for the Old Approach:

  • Restricted Exploration  — Users had to follow a predefined path instread of organically discovering tools and workflows.
  • Disconnect form the Product’s Nature — Superstudio itself operates as an inifinite creative space, yet the website didn’t reflect that freedom.
  • User Drop-off — The rigid navigation flow made it harder for new users to grasp the full potential of the platform, affecting engagement.

Given these constraints, we realized that the website itself needed to mirror the Superstudio experience — allowing users to engage with content in a more dynamic, refreshed way.

The Design Process
We began with an immersion phase, diving deep into Superstudio’s value proposition to gain clarity and alignment across the team. I facilitated two half-day strategic workshops with key stakeholders and team members to tackle the most pressing challenges of the platform and establish a north star for the redesign.

What I did:

  • 1:1 interviews with Stakeholders — Gathered insights on business goals, pain points, and opportunities.
  • Strategic Workshops – Led discussions to align the team around unified vision.
  • Competitive Audit — Analyzed similar platforms to identify best practives and differentiation.
  • Brand Audit — Evaluated how the visual identity could evolve to better communicate professionalism and creativity.

Product Strategy & User Research
The product strategy phase focused on defining clear objectives for the redesign, ensuring that it aligned with both business needs and user expectations.

Key Product Goals:

  • Improve user experience inside an infinite canvas.
  • Enhance onboarding to support new users.
  • Increase composability – allowing users to integrate AI tools effortlessly into their workflow.

Final Solution: Designing for Infinite Exploration
The redesigned product moved away from a linear structure and adopted an infinite canvas model, transforming the user journey into a more intuitive, freeform experience.

  • Spatial Navigation – Users can now pan, zoom, and explore different sections of the canvas within Superstudio itself.
  • Adaptive Content Discovery — Instead of following a fixed menu, users can navigate fluidly between freatures, canvases, and community-generated workflows.
  • Seamless Onboarding — The new approach allows users to engage at their own pace, fostering better retention and deeper exploration.

This shift created a more immersive and intuitive experience, reinforcing Superstudio’s identity as a platform where creativity has no limits.
